O Café Concerto existe na Madalena do Pico há cerca de 40 anos... conhecido por ser a maior sala de jogos da Ilha...
No final de 2015 surgiu a oportunidade de explorar este espaço e, depois de acertados todos os pontos para que fosse possível a sua reabertura com nova gerência, pusemo-nos a pensar que melhorias seriam possíveis com o baixo orçamento disponível...
O nosso amor pelas artes falou mais alto e por isso optámos pela reformulação do Café de modo a integrar o bar na sala de jogos, tornando-a mais pequena. Deste modo foi possível proporcionar um espaço mais acolhedor mas com área suficiente para a organização de eventos como música ao vivo, dança, teatro, exposições, festas... Devido ao baixo orçamento de que dispunhamos toda a decoração do Café foi baseada na recuperação e reciclagem do mobiliário já existente, bem como na utilização de objectos em fim de vida que se transformaram para se adaptarem a novas funções...
Queriamos um espaço alternativo tanto no aspecto decorativo como no ambiente que tem para oferecer. A decisão de não ter televisão foi definitiva para a nossa visão de entretenimento de qualidade! Queremos acarinhar o convívio, a conversa amena, a música, os serões de jogos em família ou entre amigos, a leitura, a criatividade, o sonho...
Trabalhamos com paixão para proporcionar à comunidade entretenimento cultural diversificado, apostando na promoção dos artistas locais mas também mostrando um pouco do que se faz na Região e no nosso Portugal...
Com tudo isto em mente e desde o início de 2016 o Café Concerto proporciona aos seus clientes um espaço destinado às artes e à arte do convívio social, do frente a frente, onde poderá disputar uma partida de cartas, damas, xadrez, gamão, ludo, snooker... ler um livro na nossa biblioteca, os jornais da Ilha ou a nossa selecção de revistas de arte... ouvir boa música e conversar... escrever, desenhar ou simplesmente sonhar! e sim:) sabemos estar em pleno século XXI e por essa razão existe também internet WIFI :) achamos que mesmo assim não será uma desculpa para perder as boas coisas da vida :) venha fazer-nos uma visita!

At the end of 2015 came the opportunity to explore this Caffe and, after all the arrangements necessary to reopened with a new management, we began thinking wich improvements were possible with the low budget available ...
Our love for all arts was stronger then anything else this is why we decided to reformulate the Caffe by integrating the bar into the games room, making it smaller. With this change it was possible to provide a more intimate space but with enough area to organize events such as live music, dance performances, plays, exhibitions, parties ...
Due to the low budget available all the Caffe decor was based on the recovery and recycling of the existing furniture as well as the adaptation of end of life objects to new functions ...
We wanted an alternative space in both the decorative and the environment aspects. The decision not to have television was definitive for our quality entertainment vision! We want to cherish gathering, small talk, music listening, evenings of family games or among friends, reading, creativity, dreaming ...
We work with passion to provide a diverse cultural entertainment to the community, focusing on the promotion of local artists but also showing a little of what it is done in the Azores Region and in our Portugal ...
With all of this in mind, and since the beginning of 2016, Café Concerto provides guests with a space dedicated to the arts and the art of social life, head to head, where you can enjoy a game of cards, checkers, chess, backgammon, ludo, snooker ... read a book from our library, the Island newspapers or our selection of art magazines ... listen to good music and chat ... write, draw or just dream! And yes:) we know we are in the twenty-first century and for this reason there is also WIFI internet :) never the less we think this should not be an excuse to miss the good things in life :) come and visit us!
